Welcome to Petiffic ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Petiffic mobile application (the "App") and all related services. By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the App. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and such modifications will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the App after any changes indicates your acceptance of the modified Terms. 

1. Core Features

• Pet Character Management: Create and customize virtual pet characters with detailed profiles, photos, and care information
• Task Scheduling & Planning: Schedule and track pet care tasks, including feeding, grooming, veterinary appointments, and health monitoring
• Community Features: Connect with other pet owners through chat rooms, forums, and social interactions
• Health Tracking: Record and monitor pet health information, vaccination schedules, and veterinary care

2. Additional Services

• Push notifications for task reminders and community updates
• Multi-language support (English and Traditional Chinese)
• Photo and media sharing capabilities
• Content moderation and safety features

1. Account Creation

To use certain features of the App, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• Maintain and update your account information to keep it accurate and current
• Protect the security of your account credentials
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

2. Age Requirements

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under 18, you represent that you have obtained parental or guardian consent to use the App.

3. Account Security

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• Ensuring your account information is secure and not shared with others

4. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. 

1. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe upon the rights of others
• Use the App for any commercial purpose without our express written consent
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality

2. Content Standards

When using community features, you agree not to post, upload, or share content that:

• Is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or harassing
• Contains inappropriate language or profanity (including Chinese bad words)
• Infringes on intellectual property rights
• Contains false or misleading information
• Promotes violence, discrimination, or hate speech
• Contains personal information of others without consent
• Is spam, advertising, or promotional material without authorization

3. Community Interactions

When interacting with other users:

• Be respectful and considerate of others
• Do not harass, bully, or intimidate other users
• Report inappropriate behavior or content
• Respect the privacy and boundaries of other users

1. Our Rights

The App and its content, including but not limited to text, graphics, images, logos, software, and design elements, are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

2. Your Content

You retain ownership of content you create and share through the App. However, by posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to:

• Use, reproduce, and display your content within the App
• Modify and adapt your content for technical purposes
• Distribute your content to other users as part of the App's functionality

3. License to Use the App

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

2. Data Collection

We collect and process personal information as described in our Privacy Policy, including:

• Account and profile information
• Pet character data and health records
• Community interactions and communications
• Usage data and analytics
• Device and technical information

3. Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. 

1. Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the App. The App may be temporarily unavailable due to:

• Maintenance and updates
• Technical issues or system failures
• Force majeure events
• Other circumstances beyond our control

2. Service Modifications

We reserve the right to:

• Modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App
• Add new features or remove existing features
• Update the App's functionality and interface
• Change service requirements or limitations

3. Updates

You agree to install App updates when available to ensure optimal functionality and security. 

1. Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to: 

• Warranties of merchantability
• Warranties of fitness for a particular purpose
• Warranties of non-infringement
• Warranties of accuracy or reliability

2. Pet Care Disclaimer

The App provides pet care information and scheduling tools but is not a substitute for professional veterinary care. We do not:

• Provide medical advice or veterinary services
• Guarantee the accuracy of pet care information
• Accept responsibility for pet health outcomes
• Endorse specific veterinary practices or treatments

3. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for: 

• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, data, or use
• Damages arising from use of the app
• Damages related to pet care decisions made based on app information

4. Data Backup Disclaimer

We use our best efforts to ensure the integrity of our regular data backups, which are performed for administrative purposes. However, these backups are provided as a safeguard for our own operations and are not guaranteed. You are responsible for independently backing up your Content. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any losses or damages resulting from data loss due to backup failures.

1. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services, including:

• Firebase: Authentication, database, storage, messaging, and analytics
• Google Play Services
• Expo

2. Third-Party Terms

Your use of third-party services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies.

3. Third-Party Content

We are not responsible for content, services, or products provided by third parties. 

1. Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time by:

• Deleting your account through the App settings
• Contacting us to request account deletion
• Discontinuing use of the App

2. Termination by Us

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App immediately, without prior notice, for:

• Violations of these Terms
• Fraudulent or illegal activities
• Extended periods of inactivity
• Other reasons at our sole discretion

3. Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

• Your right to use the App ceases immediately
• We may delete your account and associated data
• You remain liable for any obligations incurred before termination

1. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

2. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App.

3. Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision.

4. Assignment

You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.

5. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure to perform due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
